Karen Winner.

Karen Winner is a marketing manager with more than 20 years' experience in the IT industry.

Formerly, Winner was director of marketing communications for MICOM Corp., a Los Angeles-based international supplier of data communications equipment. While there, she was responsible for formulating and executing communications programs, including advertising, PR, direct marketing and multichannel sales support.

In addition to working with more than 50 KCA clients, including Apex IT, Dynamic Solutions Group, Smeadsoft, Kinetic Data, and MHC Software, Winner has been engaged by other IT organizations, such as ADC, Multi-Tech, SGI/Cray, Techies.com, and Shavlik Technologies.

Winner chaired the marketing communications committee of the MHTA and served on the board of directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as vice president of communications. She also was the public relations chair for PurpleRide, a fundraiser for pancreatic cancer research.

Winner is an IABC-accredited business communicator and has been an invited speaker on effective PR and marketing techniques for IT companies, as well as on how to use various marketing tools for business success.

Winner has been working with KCA since 1997 and holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
