Tom Pick

Tom Pick is an online marketing executive with more than 15 years' experience in promoting technology products and services.

Currently, Pick hosts the WebMarketCentral marketing resources portal site and writes its award-winning blog. Prior to joining KC Associates, Pick was director of corporate communications at reinsurance intermediary Collins Associates, where he was responsible for developing and implementing an integrated marketing strategy that included media relations, web marketing and SEO, sales collateral and event marketing programs. Under his plan, the company increased website traffic by 400% and tripled its press coverage.

Previous to his work at Collins, Pick spent nine years with the manufacturing software company SoftBrands (formerly Fourth Shift), managing trade shows, analyst relations, PR, web marketing and SEO. As director of Americas marketing, he led a team that successfully launched two new products while producing a 50% year-over-year increase in qualified leads for a mature product in a consolidating market.

Pick began his career with Printware, a pioneer in digital prepress technology. During his seven-year tenure with the company, Pick moved from technical writing and engineering team leadership to developing and executing highly successful direct marketing, PR and lead generation programs.

Pick's work has been recognized with industry awards in website development, online/interactive marketing and PR, as well as blogging. He's been named one of the 50 most influential b2b marketing thought leaders, and a Twin Cities Top Ten Titan in Social Media. In addition to his blog, Pick has authored numerous articles on web marketing and social networking for various publications and presented at blogging and social media conferences. He also serves as an advisor to FYIndOut.com, a b2b-focused social media site, and B2BMarketingZone.com, a portal site for b2b blogs.

Pick has been working with KCA since 2006 and holds a master's degree in marketing from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor's degree in engineering from St. Cloud State University.
